Coffee Cupping

Sunday, May 31, 2015 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Ever been confused when you order a cup of coffee that is supposed to have notes of banana, cherry and chocolate and all you taste is coffee? Want to know more about the beans we use for our drip coffee and espresso? Join us and New Harvest for a cupping this month! Cupping is the practice of observing and evaluating the scent and taste of coffee. Kind of like a wine tasting, but for coffee. Look for a signup sheet by the register, and those who participate get a coupon for a free cup of drip coffee.

See you there!

Patrick Davis Live!

Thursday, May 28, 2015 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Patrick Davis, a veritable Pisces, is stuck between his own name and the moniker Chips Maloy. His raw bedroom folk is a unique blend of acoustic plucking, a whiskeyed growl, and world-weary lyrics. He can be spotted driving aimlessly around his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, blaring old country hits or 90's hip hop. Other influences include overheard conversations, postwar American literature, and caffeine. He's excited to share his sound with Boston for the first time ever.

Patrick Coman Live!

Wednesday, May 27, 2015 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Patrick Coman plays the soundtrack for Saturday night sinning and Sunday morning redemption. Merging the bluesy barroom shuffle of his native Oklahoma with the poetic lyricism that pays a debt to the historically rich Cambridge folk scene, Coman has garnered fans in his adopted hometown of Boston and beyond opening for musical heavyweights of all stripes including Del McCoury, John Fullbright, Joan Osborne, and more.

His new album, "Reds and Blues", is available now! Click here.

Stop in and check him out, and hit up his website, patrickcoman.com.

Harvey Milk Day

Monday, May 25, 2015 - 7:00am to 7:00pm

Celebrate Harvey Milk Day with Keshet and Ula!

May 22nd marks Harvey Milk Day and we're celebrating by bringing Harvey's face (and legacy) front and center. From May 15th to May 25th, Keshet's LGBT Jewish Hero Harvey Milk poster will be hanging in multiple places at Ula. Come in for a drink or a bite to eat, and pause to grab a picture with the poster. Share why you're passionate about LGBT rights by posting your photo and tagging @ulacafe, @KeshetGLBTJews, and @HMilkFoundation!

Learn more about Keshet here!

Ryan Nevel Live!

Wednesday, May 20, 2015 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Ryan Nevel doesn't sing; he prefers to let his guitar communicate for him. After gigging around the Tampa Bay area, he ventured north and brought his original compositions to Boston. His influences include rock, folk, jazz, country, classical, and pop. Hear all of this and more at his live gig at Ula!
